At home hair color that lasts?

My hair is very dry from over prossesing, and i color it at home with loreal feria, my problem is it only holds for a few weeks (about 3 or 4). Is there a better color out there that would hold alot longer?

I can honestly say, I have a haircoloring problem. I have dyed my hair easily within the last 3 months about 10 times. How sad is that?

Anyhow.. I have used just about every product out there and I have found that Loreal is the next to last brand that I trust to put in my hair (Redken is the first!).

When you have been dying your hair, have you been lightening it or darkening it? I have found that some hair colors just won't stay in light hair. Also, if you have too light of a color to begin with (if you had your hair previously blonde), the color washes out a LOT faster than it would if you had started out with a darker color. My problem right now is that I have dyed it so much (dark) that it won't lighten up with me dying it myself.

ANYHOW.. to answer your question, I would definitely go with Clairol or Garnier color. They usually both run about the same price, but they usually give you the color you want.

BUT.. before you do ANYTHING... make sure your hair can handle being dyed. If it is so dry, the last thing you want is all of it (or patches) falling out.

I would leave it alone for awhile or condition it very well. I use tresemme conditioner to soften my hair I have been dying it for years you have to be very careful you will burn it and frizz it. you should really go to a licensed hairdresser so she can condition it for you and use the real stuff on your hair the best thing for you GOOD LUCK

well try going to sally beauty supply and those hair color's should last a longer and try not to color your hair so much cuss if you don't your wont have to much hair lol for your dry hair try redken all soft shampoo and condition that should take care of the dryness or to keep your color longer try a color care shampoo and conditioner
