Dandruff Help???

I always get dandruff after I wash my hair and I put moisturiser on the bits at the front and it makes it invisible. Even though I used loreal anti dandruff shampoo it doesn't work very well.

I don't use head %26amp; shoulders because it bleaches the colour out of your hair!

Is there a solution to my annoying problem that is free or cheap for teenagers?

Dandruff Help???

Head and shoulders bleaches the hair??? odd thing to hear. But, try T-tree oil and T-tree shampoo. Theres medicated shampoos like Polytar that is very effective. xx

selsun shampoo....costs a bit but you only use it twice a week...works too.

Dandruff Help???

Try T-Gel , supposed to help (medication from chemist)

Dandruff Help???

Try neutrogena T-Gel shampoo. It smells bad when it goes on but it really works well. Your hair doesn't smell after! You need to do it for a week or 2 before it sorts it out but then you can use your normal shampoo for a while until it comes back!!!

Dandruff Help???

You might be mistaking dandruff for conditioner that hasnt been washed out. So make sure you do wash it out properly.

If thats not the problem, you might need to get a medicated dandruff shampoo from the pharmacist. It should clear up in a few weeks.

Dandruff Help???

Dandruff can be confused with dry skin. I don't believe that Head and Shoulders works very well and the best thing to do with dry skin is to keep hydrated by drinking 2l of water a day, wash your hair in a low-soap formula and use a hydro-retaining conditioner.

that shampoo- their slogan is "Don't wear black without the blue" maybe its like Selciun Blue? Celcium Blue?

Dandruff Help???

yes! apple cider vinegar. it is a natural remembdy for dandruff. i get an itchy scalp so i use it. just pour the vinegar on your scalp and let it sit for about 30 mins. then i just shower(wash your hair 2 times to get the vinegar smell out) and you should find your dandruff is gone! dilute the vinegar if the smell gets to you. you may need to repeat this every couple of months

Dandruff Help???

You could have a condition called Seborrheic Dermatitis. No amount of dandruff shampoo will work for that. Try T-gel shampoo. It works for Dandruff too. It smells awful but you only have to use it once or twice a week. Also both dandruff and Seborrheic Dermatitis are worse in the winter. Some people say that you can help dandruff by avoiding hot water while washing your hair. Wash it in room temp. to cool. Cool water also helps keep the color and helps keep hair from drying out. Good luck.

I suffer from Eczema, i cannot use lots of shampoos, and i get very flaky skin on my neck and scalp, i have found that if i use baby oil (can get it cheap from tescos) a couple of times a month, and wash my hair a couple of times afterwards with stuff i can use, it works a treat.

i have my psoriasis and also get my hair coloured and highlighted. i find t - gel the best but find it make hair dry and dull. i used head and shoulders and worked wonders. hairdresser advised not to use for every wash as it dulls the colour if used all of the time.

i find using h %26amp;s like this my hair keeps its colour.

Bits at the front end? That sounds like dermatitis or psoriasis. I had a miserable condition of dandruff and recently found out that it was Psoriasis. Please answer the following questions:

1. Is your dandruff uncontrollable with common non-prescription shampoos?

2. Is the flaking happens in chunks and is more on the hairline (sides) and not on top?

3. Is it showing up on the top-back of ear or on the forehead?

4. Do you have thick darker colored and sometimes itchy spots in your body? This can happen on the back of your palm or on the top of the feet or probably on the crevices of buttocks.

5. Does shiny, discolored, itchy, round spots appear on your body? Mostly you can see this on your armpit.

If you have answered 3 or more questions yes then this may be psoriasis. If you have said yes to 2 questions then it is highly likely that you have psoriasis. Normal physician mis-diagnose and provide you regular dandruff medications that will not work.

Now the bad news: There is no cure for this disease. What ever you do it will back within a week. This is a genetic disorder of body immune system.

Worse news: Psoriasis in many case progressively increases and can show up as ugly reddish spots all over face and body. Many cases it flare up significantly with stress.

Now the good news: It can be controlled to some extend with medications, proper exercise, good eating habits and stress reduction. I am not a doctor, but from my personal experience I recommend the following:

1. Use Nizoral (1% Ketaconozole) shampoo and T-gel tar shampoo - switch between two.

2. Get a prescription for Clobetasol Propionate for your forehead and visible areas.

3. Use Scalpicin Hydrocortisone psoriasis anto-itch treatment for your scalp if it goes out of control.

4. Spend some time doing yoga or meditation or some stress relieving exercise.
