My hair is brownish with red streaks underneath i jus got it done and iv washed it once since the dye just streams out of my hair. I know red dye is so hard to keep, but has anyone any tips on how to protect the colour??
Iv used colour protect shampooos such as VO5 and LOREAL colour protect and intensive conditioners but to no avail.

i use John Friedas colour glaze and colour shampoo and conditioners, they smell great and make your hair super soft too. avoid using anti-dandruff shampoos as this removes the colour from your hair quicker

i have dyed red hair and use John Frieda's hair products for reds - all of them are great. i also think L'Oreals conditioner for coloured hair is very good, but i'm not convinced it prolongs the colour of your hair....

when you dye your hair, you run water through it till it runs clear. The next time, there will be no colour run. the best way is to let the water run clear, and then use the conditioner which comes with clairol hair colour as it prevents hair colour from fading.

You should try a salon quality shampoo. If you had a stylist dye your hair, ask them what the best stuff is to work with the dye they used.I use the same brand shampoo as the dye is ( ISO is what I use), because it's made to work together. I have red in my hair right now too, I love it but it's so hard to keep!

what do u mean the dye just streams out of my hair? if u means that after u got your hairdone and u went home and washed it that means that whoever dyed your hair didnt rinse it out very well

Have you tried Wella products? They have a foam mask for sealing in color. It works pretty well.

Aveda have a really good shampoo called Madder Root, it's great for protecting and prolonging the colour of your hair.

If you have already tried the colour-protect shampoos then there isn't much else you can do about locking in the colour. Don't wash your hair too often as everytime you wash it more of the dye will wash out.
